loss of program functions

k within the last 2 days my windows system in total will not open
ANYTHING..im getting soo fustrated. im using windows xp pro but it isnt
genuine, i have the cd key for home edition (real) but i cant find the cd to
reinstall. windows.com wont help me at all cuz i cant find my product id
which is in control panel/system which i also cant open the error that comes
up is "This File does not have the program associated with it for performing
this action. Create an association in the Folder Options control panel."
Whatever that means i have no clue. Can Someone please gimme a hand??

if you don't have a cd you need to by a new.....
