Default Problem installing XP SP2 "Access Denied"

We've had dial-up service until this morning and now switched to high speed
RoadRunner cable service.
I went to download XP SP2 (which I could never do with dial up) and about
half way through the installation, I get a pop up window that says ACCESS
DENIED, then uninstalls everything that started to install. Any idea on how
to install XP SP2??

You receive an "Access is denied" error message when
you try to install Windows XP Service Pack 2

I assume you meant to validate my copy of Windows, which I did after reading
your post.
So I tried downloading it again, and one again, about half-way through, I
got the ACCESS DENIED message and the PC uninstalled everything that was
installed up to that point. Any other suggestions?

Has that link / kb changed?
When I opened it, it only shows as far as 'Workaround', steps 1,2,3 open a
blank window.
I tried several times
