I have a computer that was going to be thrown away and i thought i would take
it to use for games and stuff. When i got home and turned it on it asks for a user name and password. It won't even login to windows without it. Its say something about a domain and username and password. Can this be fixed where i can use the computer. If so how can I do that? |

You will either need the domain username and password or the local Administrator password. The best thing to do would be to do a clean install of Windows, although I'm going to use Crystal Ball(tm) and guess that you didn't get the operating system with the computer. So your options are to get the operating system and do a clean install (best choice), or get the usernames/passwords (probably impossible), or use NTpasswd to change the local Administrator's password to a blank. Then log in and make desired user changes, including removing the machine from the domain. http://michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html - Clean Install How-to http://www.elephantboycomputers.com...install_Windows - What you need to have on-hand http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/ - NTpasswd Malke -- Elephant Boy Computers www.elephantboycomputers.com "Don't Panic!"
