Default XP Crashing in Games. Is this going to be Resolved?

Yeah, I have a fair amount of games that don't want to
run, or don't want to install. I also have tried many
things but no solution. I've got an Intel P4 2ghz w/256
ram w/ a Nvidia GE force 4 MX 420 (64 or 32 meg?). HAve
latest WHQL video drivers and DX 9 (recent; still had
probs w/DX 8). There's another recent post w/similar
problems who also mentions a nvidia ge force card.
Hmm?????
