Default Info on Broken Monitor Cable

Where can I get a replacement cable for a monitor. It has broken pins at the
video card side and needs replacement . Can I purchase one if I give the
model and serial numbers? It seems a shame to have to discard a perfect
monitor just because the pins at the connection are broken.

Any help would be appreciated...

Thanks

How old and what size and model. Is the cable hard wired in the monitor?
If so you better be familiar with the inside of monitors and soldering.

If the cable also plugs into a female D-connector on the monitor, it
is almost certainly a standard VGA monitor cable and a replacement can
be obtained from any decent computer store. If the cable goes straight
into the monitor, I would not recommend your trying to replace it
yourself, but a good computer store or a computer-oriented TV repairer
should have the skills and equipment to do so.
