Trouble downloading software

I cannot load any software to my pc after upgrading to
Windows XP from Windows ME

I suggest you post to the Windows XP newsgroups, Bernie. Probably the first
question you'll be asked is "Was this an upgrade over Millennium, or a
format and clean install." If the former, they're going to recommend you do
a clean installation to get rid of all the Millennium problems.
