When I put it in any USB port, The drive won't boot. I checked "my Computer"
and the U3 icon is grayed out. If I double click it I get an error message that It won't boot. I checked my disk drives, and it shows that the drive is formatted OK. In Device Manager everything is OK. I reloaded the software for U3 from Sandisk and still the same thing. Any Ideas? |

When I insert the drive, instead of the U3 Launchpad starting, an explorer window opens showing the contents of the drive. LaunchU3.exe is grayed out and will not run. There is something wrong with the autoplay/autorun function for that drive, but I can't seem to fix it. The USB drive does "autolaunch" on other computers, though. I need help, too. And it's good to know I'm not the only one. |

I have the same problem and I think I have narrowed it down
to the XP version or localization, as it works fine on my 2 US XP Home and 3 US XP Pro machines (all SP2), but fail to load on my Norwegian XP Home machine. Which version of XP are you using? If you have the one that slips out with a button make sure that it is
extended all the way and is firmly planted in the USB connector. The program makes the device look like a CDROM. HTH. Try it on another computer.
If the same symptoms occur, it is likely that the memory stick is broken. -- Jason Tsang - Microsoft MVP Find out about the MS MVP Program - http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/default.aspx "Vaan" <Vaan.3us7rc@DoNotSpam.com> wrote in message news:Vaan.3us7rc@DoNotSpam.com... > > I have some problems with my Sandisk U3 Cruzer 2GB memmory stick > device.. > It can' be recognized by computer > always shows as unknown device.. > and that stick is so hot like a fire when connecting to the > computer... > is it broken?? > can it be fixed?? > At first,It can't be safety removed from the computer.. > whenever i eject it,it re-connect automatically.... > I need help!!! > some advice, please!!! > Vaan > > > -- > Vaan > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > Vaan's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/111250.htm > View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/xp-hardware/534400.htm > > http://forums.techarena.in > |

If it's that hot to the touch, then it's time to scrap it.
Leaving it connected to your USB port drawing that much power as to heat up your Cruzer to a point were it is "hot like a fire" may end up damaging your computer's motherboard which is far more expensive to replace than the memory stick. -- JS http://www.pagestart.com "Vaan" <Vaan.3us7rc@DoNotSpam.com> wrote in message news:Vaan.3us7rc@DoNotSpam.com...
