application sharing/ whiteboard not working

I am running windows messenger 4.7 with another person, when we try to start
the application sharing or the whiteboard, after the confirmatio nothing
happens, nor a program starts. I have tried removing firewalls, antiviruses
bu it seems no to work.
Any ideas? Thanks
