Default Microsoft Office 2007

Microsoft Office 2007 is now available to preview on the Microsoft site.

Being the biggest Office update since Office 2003, the new software from Microsoft promises to be easier to use, faster and more capable than before. It also integrates online learning for both home-users and professionals.

The software boasts a new, sleek silvery-blue design, and the traditional menus and bars have been replaced with the 'Ribbon'. This allows for the huge amount of new features modern software includes, making it easier to navigate to what you want.

Read more about it all here.

Thumbs down Office 2007 price to much

Have to confess that i prefer using Open Office, even though i have Office 2000. But am happy to try Office 2007, but just don't like the price of it!! Will let you know how i get on with it though

It would appear the average life expectancy of MS Office is 3 years then.

As attractive as MS Office 2007 looks, it still commands a hefty price tag, especially if you decide to purchase the complete package.

I've been using Open Office within Suse 10 and it really is a nifty piece of software, it does everything I need that I use MS Office for, is compatible with MS Office documents and of course is free.

I do actually use MS Publisher a fair bit, I'm quite fond of that program, I don't know if Open Office can perform Publisher functions as yet. Whatever, if it can't I'll just stick with MS Publisher 2003.

Thanks for posting the link Bex, interesting to read about the new version

I'm disgusted with the way that was even put together

Photo's of the screen?!? Very poor indeed

With the resources MS have I would have thought a full screen video would have been more appropriate. I wont be buying it

SAD

Office 2003 is Office 2000 with pretty colours.

This however looks quite different. But not better. The only way anyone will ever buy it is still by getting a pirate copy off ebay. cough.

Its like firefox without the internet

Exclamation MS Office 2007 Beta

Tried the "free" donwload of MS Office Pro Plus 2007 and it's never, ever going back on my PC!
Trusty dependable Office 2000 Pro has been put back where it belongs

Sadly my Beta version crashed once to often, luckly when i went back to Office 2000 it recovered a lenghty document
Yes the user interface is good and it takes some getting used to, but the amount of times it has crashed as put me off it.

I would however like to hear how others have got on with it, was it just my pc or does it crash on others as well.
My verdict and i have done various training (CLAIT & ECDL) on MS Office including 97, 2000 & XP. I'm sticking with Office 2000
