Default XP home edition

I have windows 92 ME edition.I bought XP home edition to upgrade. It has a
corrupt file and will not install. The file is Setup\setupapi.dll.I called
customer support and they sent me a second CD.I put the cd in and it spins
for about a minute and then stops. The welcome screen come on and asks what do
I want to do.I hit the install button and nothing happens.what is going on.
