Default BF 1942 and newest cat

Just bought a used X800 XT PE, removed the old 6800 and all drivers,
installed card and cat 6.3. Ran fine last night with stock cooler except
temps were high, like over 80 C. I then installed the Arctic Cooler 5,
temps went way down to average less than 50 C, but now BF 1942 won't
run. Weird ! How weird is that ? EQ II runs fine, after running it for
over 15 minutes then temps were still less than 50 C. These are GPU
temps, not CPU. Why would BF 1942 stop running ? is it an open GL issue
? some driver setting changed ? when the game stops it freezes, goes to
blank game screen, trys to reset video, and then monitor cuts off. I
tried changing the resolution in the game to 1600x 1200 32 bit, ran a
while same thing, but now my desktop is that same resolution ! weird !
there was some clipping in the game, and flashing of textures here and
there. I disabled fast writes in the BIOS and the driver, and no AA or
AF. AGP x2. This is in a Abit NF7-S2G, 1 GB dual channel PC3200 and an
XP3200, Antec 430 w power supply and a blow hole blowing air right on
the card. I suspect the cat driver. Ideas ?

Default Re: BF 1942 and newest cat

turned out to be a corrupt gart file, downloaded newest N force 2
gart driver rebooted and all is well.
