I can enter words into a cell but not a number. What is wrong?

I am trying to enter student's grades into three columns. It will allow me to
enter words, but not numbers. All the other columns on the sheet work fine,
except these three. What have I done wrong.

Do you get any error messages at all?

No, but I was able to figure it out myself. I locked the number pad which of
course allowed words but no numbers. Thanks for responding though.
