Can't update chart using CTRL + Arrow or SHIFT + arrow shortcut

Hi. I just got Excel 2003 and i wish i hadn't! My old '97 was much simpler.
When updating a chart / graph, I used to be able to click on a cell and use
CTRL+arrow to go to the end of the data series.
Now, I have to drag with my mouse and is time consuming when you have loads
of data to update

Same thing with using the SHIFT+arrow buttons when updating charts.

Please help as this is so frustrating!
