Dear reader,
After i've upgrade default SuSE 9.3 fglrx driver, I got a problem I cannot solve anyway. When X loads, the screen gets too bright, even before gdm loads itself. It seems not to be related to gamma, because gamma settings is the same for vesa and fbdev drivers (and for these 2 the screen bright is correct). It seems fglrx set gamma/color using information stored in another cfg file. Any help would be really appreciated. I am lost. Thanks in advance. srcbr |

Sorry no answers for you.
I run a dual-boot system, SuSE 9.3 and Win XPsr2. That is why your query caught my eye. I'm interested in SuSE because of all the DRM and "ThinClient" over the internet on-demand program download Microsoft is pushing. It's only a question of time before anyone will be able to purchase a stand-alone operating program for their computer running Microsoft. So I have been studying SuSE for over a year now. First thing I learned is you better not purchase anything "NEW" on the market, or you will be SOL in drivers. I went to ATI to download the newest drivers for my graphics card. I quickly found myself over my head on this project. Now keep in mind, I have had two college courses on Unit, and know my away around the command prompt, but I'm a little rusty with this. No matter how hard I tried, I could not get SuSE to recognize my scanner, my modem directly, or install the ATI drivers. I knew I needed to hit the books and ask around. So back to Win XP to get my work done. (I still like SuSE and keep a foot in both system.) I'd love to download SuSE 10, but even with a wireless DSL, it would still take 10 hours to download 4 gig of info. (And you would still not get all the goodies available on a DVD disk.) Hay, my birthday is coming up, its off the Fry's. Their is allot of help out their when it comes to SuSE, you might do better looking in a SuSE newsgroup than here. I hope someone here knows enough about SuSE to help you. Good luck William <srcmpgbr@ig.com.br> wrote in message news:1144312432.626734.263480@g10g2000cwb.googlegroups.com... > Dear reader, > > After i've upgrade default SuSE 9.3 fglrx driver, I got a problem I > cannot solve anyway.
