Default DVI Problem. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!

I have an ATI Radeon X300 and it has a DVI connector and i tried to
connect the new monitor i got but it says that the link between the
computer and the monitor has some problem and when i switch it to the
VGA slot i get a perfect image. I have a gem GM-190B monitor. It came
with both of the connectors, so do i have to plug both of them in my
video card. I saw that the DVI port i have on the card has more slots
than the monitor and the plug is missing some of the pins in the
middle.

There are various different types if DVI plugs...the card has a DVI-D
connector
your monitor does not
follow this link and compare the pictures to your monitor

Yes, that's how you get it onto your hard drive. To actually install it,
right click the icon for it and choose Install from the menu.
