Cannot update WindowsDefender Beta 2

I have WindowsDefender Beta2, version 1.14.1315.1 (8.3.2006), running.
The Windows update now notifies me about an updated version 1.14.1361.6.
The download and the subsequent install on my computer runs without problem,
final message is "computer updated successfully".

But unfortunately, that is not true: The old version is still installed, and
again I get the notification from the Windows update program, that a new
version is available....

Whats wrong here ? Why isn't my WindowsDefender installation udated ?
