Default POWER CORD NOT CONNECTED

Just over a week ago I posted about an ATI Radeon 9800 giving the message
that the power cord was not connected. Well the PSU was only 300 watts (I
remember 150 being huge) in a system that has enough devices to need some
serious power. I switched that to a 400 watt. Today my friend got the
power cord not connected message again. Anyone got any ideas? Should the
Video power lead be straight from the PSU and not through a Y-adapter? Is
the card going?
Thanks for your help

Soooo... the power supply was changed, but you used the same Y-adapter. The
Y-adapter may have a bad contact in it. Try running without the adapter and
see what happens.
