After find out that ATI tech support is less than "nothing", I found
this group. (thank God). Ok, my problem... Last Oct. my "official" Intel P4 motherboard with ATI x700 Pro (pci-express) melted down (cpu fan died, hated it anyway). The card was working PERFECT with my InFocus 106" DLP HDTV projection system via the component out "dongle". I just finally got around to rebuilding the system and now have a AMD 64-bit dual-core processor system running Windows XP Pro x64. (which is miles faster than the old Intel P4 at 3GHz) Here's the problem... I went to ATI' site and downloaded the 64-bit drivers so I could switch the display over to the projection TV system. (no VGA monitor hooked into the card, only the component out "dongle") After setting all the settings everything looks good EXCEPT that if I run an application or play a game that changes the screen resolution, part of the screen is cut off. It looks like the screen is "offset" to the lower right lower corner. (settings in the ATI utility are set to display 480p, 720p and using the "optimal" 720p pre-defined settings.) (something like this crude ASCII drawing) +---------------------------------------------------------------+ | | | | | | | | | | | +---------------------------+ | | | | | | | | | | | | +-----------------------------------+---------------------------+ I contacted ATI support and they said it was game settings, but it's not as it even happening to regular desktop appps that change screen resolution and the game "splash" screens are doing it. I've been playing with all the settings I can find for over a week now. I've even unloaded the driver and utility and started from scratch and it made not difference. I don't know what the problem is, it was working perfect before and now it's crap. Any help would be appreciated as I'm about ready to dump this thing and go to something "non-ATI" (which I can't afford at this point). |
