Default trying to upload dvd to hard drive then edit with movie maker

How can I upload dvd video to make it compatible with windows media? I used
encoder to upload to my hard drive but the video I want is not showing up in
the new file. I have 3 original titles on the dvd which is a dvd-rw disc.
Should I rerecord the video to say a dvd- or +R formatted disc? and try to
upload it again? or can someone tell me of some kind of software out there
thats easy to upload only selected multiple titles from a dvd or selected
chapters on the disc as well? I'd appreciate any help if you know of any
downloadable software please send me links...Thank you for your time...

Default Re: trying to upload dvd to hard drive then edit with movie maker

Upload/download is generally a file transfer method from one PC to a Server
or to the web.

What you appear to be trying to do is import VOB files and then edit them.
Windows Movie Maker will not do this without you first copying the VOB files
to your hard drive and then converting them into a format that WMM can
understand.

The other option is to use third party software which will import and edit
VOB files. PowerDirector v5 by Cyberlink (www.gocyberlink.com) is one that
will do what you want.
