Ya know, it would sure be nice if you posted a website to go along with your little announcements. Something like http://securityresponse.symantec.co...jan.cryzip.html would be more helpful than your blurb -- tim |

Some of these posts are Off Topic and that Web Forum to UseNet gateway sucks as well. Example; "...user's..." When you get down to it, this is NOT new. We saw this activity in 2005 and it was described in an IEEE paper ~10 years ago. It's called cryptovirology. It's called cryptovirology. ....like you, the author of that paper must be a youngster, or at least only "recently" introduced to the field (even ten years ago). I suggest you Google for something like: Popp "AIDS information disk" to get a taste for how long this kind of scam has been around... -- Nick FitzGerald |

A property, too valuable these days, to give it away, just so, at no cost. |

It's a kind of half DOS flood. At first you are not quite sure if it is junk or not but it ends up being just plain annoying and hence one can consider it to be worthy of being kill filed. This group has it nowhere as bad as some others. Slatts |
