Default favorite firefox extensions

There are some really nifty extensions out there, and I took a day to
hunt them down. I had been using Firefox 1.07 with 15 extensions, now
I have FF 1.5 with 16 extensions. I did not do any hack to install old
extensions in FF 1.5. Most of the utility of my older extensions had
to do with tab manipulation. They were all replaced by Tab Mix Plus.

My new extensions for FF1.5:

aardvark
extended link properties
greasemonkey
launchy
platypus
tab mix plus

My 1.07 extensions where:
[** means still using in FF1.5]
[## means replaced by tab mix plus]

add bookmark here **
clone window ##
cookie button **
enhanced bookmark search (dropped... didn't use it much)
favicon picker **
flagfox (I would still use this, but no extension update for FF1.5)
flashblock **
googlebar ** (mozilla's, not google's)
image zoom **
last tab ##
nuke image (replaced by aardvark)
open link in ##
search status **
tab mix ##
undo close tab ##

Your 16 extensions is nothing. I have 52 and counting. There are many more
that have not been discovered or tested, but I will find them and test them
eventually. After all, I'm a "freeware researcher". A lot of these
extensions make very small changes. Maybe one day, some of them will be
incorporated into Firefox without the need for separate extensions. The
following report was taken 10 days ago. Tomorrow I am installing Firefox
from scratch and may not install all of these. Some have newer versions.

Add PlainOldFavorites to the list. It will let me use my Internet Explorer
Favorites in Firefox. Then I will have only ONE Favorites/Bookmarks list to
worry about and only ONE to back up.

No more opening the other browser to add the same link. No more
importing/exporting. No more worries about syncing IE Favorites and FF
Bookmarks because they will now use the same links and will always be the
same. I can add a Favorite in IE, FF or Windows Explorer and make all the
changes I want. Both browsers will always be up-to-date. What a wonderful
find!

Interesting. Why does the plugins list include Java multiple times?

Firefox is not presently installed, so I cannot check. I think it is because
each Java entry is a different dll file.

I have something like that, too. I keep a web page up so I can get to
them quickly to install on various computers when I need to. It's
always a little out-of-date.

I wish you luck. There were over a thousand extensions for Fx 1.0.x,
but I have no idea what the count is for 1.5 so far.

I thank you for this, My Lord Q.

Oops, sorry, I've been reading a Star Trek fan fiction site and I've been
contaminated. Again.

Anyway, FYI, on this page, I assume 'WFM' means 'works for me', but when
I click on it I get nothing.
