Other than audacity, what freeware is available for cutting up a sound file please ? Suppose one has recorded an LP as a single .wav file. In particular I am looking for something that can go to a set start and end point eg. Start 9:14 End 11.33 Something easier/better than just a slider. IF such a thing exists. Regards, John. |

You might want to check it out at www.AnvilStudio.com. There is a freeware version, and it's pretty powerful. Anne/Ohio |

IF such a thing exists. If it's just for getting the songs out of the wav-file, you can try to find your LP in cuesheet heaven: http://www.regeert.nl/cuesheet/ If the LP is in the database, you can create a cuesheet for any cd burning program to write the tracks on a cd. A wonderful program. It is <gasp> shareware but with a generous trial and is uncrippled. http://www.milosoftware.com/cdwave/ > In particular I am looking for something that can go to a set start > and end point eg. Hello, John!
You wrote on Mon, 16 Jan 2006 19:00:12 +1100: > Something easier/better than just a slider. IF such a thing exists. CueMaster + musiCutter work great for mp3 files: http://cuemaster.host.sk/ This program allows you to find the CD on FreeDB.org and convert it straight into a CUE sheet that can be used by musiCutter. http://musicutter.szm.sk/ This is an mp3 and ogg vorbis joiner/cutter (without need to decode and reencode) and cut points can be imported from CUE sheets.
