The key word is small. I am hoping to find something other than open
office. Two files are being distributed in Microsoft Excel format. The people who can't open the files will probably never need to open Microsoft Excel format for another reason. |

Excel Viewer 2003, available free from Microsoft might do the trick: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...&displaylang=EN "With Excel Viewer 2003, you can open, view, and print Excel workbooks, even if you don't have Excel installed. You can also copy data from Excel Viewer 2003 to another program. However, you cannot edit data, save a workbook, or create a new workbook. This download is a replacement for Excel Viewer 97 and all previous Excel Viewer versions." -- There truly is more than one way to skin a cat, but the limited market for cat skins makes learning more than three methods impractical. |

Spread32 - Zip file 490kb, .exe 912kb The last freeware version is 1.18, description & link available here (Scroll down the page): http://xtort.net/freeware-collectio...ty-software.php Direct download link: http://www.xtort.net/apps/S32118.zip About as close as you can expect in .xls compatibility without going to something like Open Office. -- Ron M. |
