http://www.premier-programming.com/...text_reader.htm (this is the paid for version) The freeware version can be downloaded at http://www.download.com/3000-2279-1...page&tag=button I have just started to work with it. So far it seems pretty good. Reasonably powerful, extreamly easy to use. Bloated 25 megabites. The microsoft voices don't seem to be sabotaged a feeling I get with other promotional readers. This is not nag ware. You don't register unless you down load from the owners site. It comes with a seven minute promotional video but you have to choose to watch it. It is not forced on you each time you want to use the Reader. I assume this is why it is bloated. ( like is said not nag ware) So, far the reader seems stable. It claims to be able to operate as a word processor but the spell check sucks. |

Check that it contains the MS Text-to-speech API...you might have to install this separately ( I did so via another text-to-speech program that had the API built in ). There's also the Mbrola Project ( sounds like a sci-fi film )... http://tcts.fpms.ac.be/synthesis/ ....but I never got this working. If you want a good free e-text reader, try Tom's eTextReader:
