Default slightly OT MS Reader download

I'm looking for one of the older versions of MS Reader for my old Win98
system, since it has taken to reporting "internal error" and bombing out.
Searched high and low on my archive disks and can't find the original
installer.

A pointer to an archive would be handy -- the MS version now *may* be too
new for my creaky old system or full of crap I don't need. Just want to
read some of my old .lit files.

Alternatiely a substiute freeware (I know, it's a proprietary format... ;-)

Sort of on topic given it is freeware.

Regards,

the strange thing is that I have had the same problem! And I have XP SP2!
This seems to be some sort of bug of the reader...

I will look on my older disks for the older installer and tell you if I find
it.
