Hi All,
I have a problem with my WinME OS not seeing my CDRom. My computer is setup to either boot ME or XP. - The BIOS sees the CDRom - XP sees the CDRom on the same system - ME did see the drive until recently - No virus or spyware detected (AVG antivirus & Spybot S&D) - A slave HDD on the same IDE channel as the CDRom IS detected and usable. - Fault log reports : ********************************************************************** Date 03/18/2006 Time 18:51 MSGSRV32 caused a general protection fault in module MMSYSTEM.DLL at 0003:00000988. Is there a way to repair the system files without doing a total reinstall? I have searched the net and have come up with more questions than answers. I am able to boot from the CDRom drive but once the system boots from the HD, WinME doesn't see the CD drive. Since there is a slave HDD on the same IDE channel as the CDRom that is seen by WinME, I'm at a loss. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks In Advance, M |
