I just did my first real back up...put my OE settings & e-mails in a folder
etc. When I try to open these files,I get a message "windows needs to know what program created it". The File names are IMJPST.DI & Active Directory.IAF. My concern is,if I ever do need to import these items because of a crash or.....how do I open them? I am using XP Home Edition. BTW,I have learned so much from these news groups...you're all great! Thanx! TMacK |

Hi,
What did you use to backup the mail? The .iaf file is imported into the mail/news settings, basically a reverse of how you created it. I'm not familiar with a .di file. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org "TMacK" <TMacK@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:9274F7BD-D342-4D63-A51C-E3DE4CE1D30E@microsoft.com... >I just did my first real back up...put my OE settings & e-mails in a folder > etc. When I try to open these files,I get a message "windows needs to know > what program created it". In OE I clicked on file>export>messages. Is there a better way to put my
messages into a folder so I can back them up safely?Thanx RNR TmacK "Rick "Nutcase" Rogers" wrote: > Hi, > > What did you use to backup the mail?
