Just got a new computer since the other died on me.. Anyway, I'm new to XP
but not OE.. I've set up my mail account like I normally do and can send email with no problem but am not receiving email. Any ideas? I checked my ISP and have the pop3 server entered correctly. Can't figure out what i did wrong. |

Check again on your ISP's website for the correct settings. Your headers show alltel.net and if that is correct and your email address ends with @alltel.net, your pop3 server should be mail.alltel.net. Check for typos. Also make sure you haven't checked the Log On using Secure Password Authentication if the ISP doesn't require it (most don't). Double-check your password again. In addition, try disabling the email scanning in your antivirus. This does not leave you unprotected. Turn off email scanning in your anti-virus; it provides no added protection. -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE Please respond in Newsgroup. If you go to alltel.net's webmail page http://mail.alltel.net/, are the
messages found there? Post any error messages you may be receiving. -- OE6-specific newsgroup: news://msnews.microsoft.com/microso..._outlookexpress OE General newsgroup: news://msnews.microsoft.com/microso...express.general ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE/OE, Shell/User, Security), Aumha.org VSOP, DTS-L.org Elizabeth wrote: > I've done all of the recommend things.. checked and double checked several > times over.. > no error messages..
