Default Installing XP on new HD in laptop

I'm planning to get a new 40G HD for my Gateway 450 and wondering about
installing from my original disc. When I priced the HD at the Gateway store
the girl said there shouldn't be any problem with installing on the new HD
but was a bit vague about permissions. I bought the laptop in 2002. can't
remember if I ran the disc then. I must have, right? So this will be the 2nd
use?

Hi,

There would be no reason you could not install XP on the new hard drive from
the original installation disk, it's still the same machine.
