Default problem with rs232 interfacing

i am interfacing a fpga board to a pc using rs232 standard.
the fpga is spartan 2 of xilinx make. the on board oscillator is of
frequency 8MHz. i want to transmit the data appearing on the fpga
output pins to a pc, i.e., write this data onto a file in the pc. baud
rate is 9600. 1 start bit and 1 stop bit. no parity.
i have written the code in c using bioscom.
but the after opening the output file, i find it empty.
plz help
regards arun

This isn't a CF question, and you've not provided near enough information to
