Default looking for a better explaination of how power management works

On XP HE, I've set up the pwr mgmt criteria from my user account which still
has admin privs. I've set 15 mins(monitor)/25 disks/45 stnby/2 hrs hiber).
1) I'm trying to figure out if (monitor off & drives off) = standby, or if
standby means more?
2) Also, once it goes into standy will it auto wake up to go into Hibernate
after 2hrs?
3) Does not seem to be the case, but I haven't actually timed it yet.
Seems to stay in standby until I specifically make it hibernate???

Thanks,

This is one of two standby states; see

My laptop does exactly that.

Hmm -- suppose you make the hibernate interval shorter than the
standby interval. (Wil it let you?) What happens then? And can you
hiberante the computer manually?

Yes it works manually just fine. I'll play with the time & settings.
Thanks for the link!
