After I did a XP clean install from Me, I don't see an administrator account
in the control panel users administation screen. Is there one hidden, or do I need to create it if I want it. If there is one I don't see, how do I log onto it? ctrl-alt-del X2 and the pswd is??? Thaks, |

XP Home or XP Pro?
You can only login as Administrator via Safe Mode in Windows XP Home Edition. However, any account with Admin rights should be sufficient in XP Home. -- ------------------------------------------ Donny Broome www.broomeman.com/tech ------------------------------------------ "CS" <CS@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:FE9BF31A-9140-4D25-A927-7E829BA78FF9@microsoft.com... > After I did a XP clean install from Me, I don't see an administrator > account > in the control panel users administation screen. Yes, if this is XP Pro, you can press CTRL+AL+DEL twice at the Welcome screen to see the built-in administrator account. If you did not create a password for this account during installation then the password will be blank.
If this is XP Home Edition, you can only access the built-in administrator account by restarting in Safe Mode. -- Ronnie Vernon Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User "CS" <CS@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:FE9BF31A-9140-4D25-A927-7E829BA78FF9@microsoft.com... > After I did a XP clean install from Me, I don't see an administrator account > in the control panel users administation screen.
