Excel Attachments opening in Read-Only mode.

I have a user that is using Outlook 2003. Whenever he receives an attachment
from me he cannot open it without it going to read-only mode. Consequently,
he cannot save any changes without first changing the file name. Any ideas?

Make sure that he first opens the message, then opens the attachment from the open message, not from the reading pane.
