I am trying to find out if there is any way to have multiple users login to
the exchange 2k3 server from outlook 2003. What I am tring to do is have a single login (i.e. users) into active directory. Then setup a profile in Outlook that will prompt the user for their username and password to login to the exchange server (i.e. user1, user2, user3 etc...). We are currnetly migrating from Groupwise 6.5 to Exchange 2k3. On the Groupwise system, there is an option to login to Groupwise as any user. This option allows any user to authenticate to his e-mail on the Groupwise server. I dont know of any options like this for Exchange 2k3. Is there an option like this or is there any way to configure a profile to do this? Thanks Doug |

The usual way to manage this with outlook is to have each user log into Windows with their user name and password and have Outlook configure the mail profile using that information. Microsoft uses text files with a ..prf extension and a highly structured format to provide information to OUtlook that enables Outlook to create or modify a mail profile. You can create such .prf files with the Custom Installation Wizard or Custom Maintenance Wizard tools in the Office Resource Kit. For more details, including a variety of .prf deployment methods, read the excellent white paper "Configuring Outlook Profiles by Using a PRF File" at http://office.microsoft.com/search/...7c_60I&respos=3
The page at http://www.slipstick.com/exs/olroam.htm includes information on other profile tools and resources including some tools for "walkup profiles" if users share a Windows login. -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 http://www.turtleflock.com/olconfig/index.htm and Microsoft Outlook Programming - Jumpstart for Administrators, Power Users, and Developers http://www.outlookcode.com/jumpstart.aspx "Doug Andrade" <DougAndrade@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news 446B7DA-C7E1-4ACB-B629-CE3C1665A4C0@microsoft.com...>I am trying to find out if there is any way to have multiple users login to > the exchange 2k3 server from outlook 2003. > What I am tring to do is have a single login (i.e. users) into active > directory.
