go to a command prompt and run \program files\windows defender\mpcmdrun.exe
Schedule it to your hearts content. A full scan is both time consuming and resource intensive. -- "SLevine" <SLevine@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:A64512F9-68CE-447E-8A89-FD20057156E0@microsoft.com... > Is there any way to schedule a once a week Full Scan and Quick Scans the > rest > of the week? |

Create batch files with different parameters--you can choose signature
updates, quickscans, or fullscans. Then use the Windows Scheduler--start, control panel, maintenance, scheduled tasks--and schedule the scans according to whatever pattern you'd like. This won't be reflected in the Windows Defender UI, but it will work. -- "Balt" <Balt@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:300E8017-3854-42F1-915D-801EFAB56279@microsoft.com... > "Bill Sanderson" wrote: > >> go to a command prompt and run \program files\windows >> defender\mpcmdrun.exe >> >> Schedule it to your hearts content. > > Well, that gave me the ability to run the scan of my choice from the > command > prompt, but how does that help me schedule multiple scan types? |
