I used Microsoft Antispyware Beta 1 for about a year and I really liked the
utilities avaliable, like Tracks Eraser and HighJack Reset (where you could set yuour defaulted websites and if your homepage was highjacked, you could reset them). Are there any plans to incorporate these utilities into Wiindows Defender? |

Hi Bill,
I just installed IE7 yesterday to see how it was. I found that by doing so, the default text in Outlook express messages is changed to a very heavy/bold text that is not good on my eyes. I quickly uninstalled IE7. Everything went back to normal. I wonder if anyone else has had the same situation, or if I am an anomaly. -- Regards, Richard Urban Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User Quote from George Ankner: If you knew as much as you think you know, You would realize that you don't know what you thought you knew! It is a little known fact--perhaps even by some OE development team members,
that OE's display and printing functions are done by IE code--when they say IE is part of the OS, they mean it. I have IE7 on a laptop that I don't run OE on, so I haven't seen this effect--but I have heard other complaints about font rendering and IE7. -- "Richard Urban" <richardurbanREMOVETHIS@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:%23s%230wB7OGHA.2064@TK2MSFTNGSA02.privatenews.microsoft.com... > Hi Bill, > > I just installed IE7 yesterday to see how it was. Hi
Are you using Clear type functionality ? http://www.microsoft.com/typography/ClearTypeInfo.mspx With a LCD screen and IE7 this is important to use. You have one Powertoy and one ActiveX controlled Clear type control. regards plun > As I suspected. Hi
OK ! I´ve seen it with LCD screens and after adjustments and the power toy everything is perfect (better then before). But as I understands it CRT monitors also take advantage of Clear type functionality.. Q. Will ClearType improve text display on CRT monitors? A. Yes, but less so than with LCD displays. Because a standard cathode-ray tube (CRT) screen uses an electron beam to activate pixels, ClearType does not provide the same benefits that you experience on an LCD screen. However, because ClearType still applies a form of filtering similar to traditional antialiasing, you may see some improvement when enabling ClearType on a CRT screen. But maybe this is a IE7 bug ? regards plun > Clear type is not loaded on my system (CRT monitor). > > -- > > > Regards, > > Richard Urban > Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User > > Quote from George Ankner: > If you knew as much as you think you know, > You would realize that you don't know what you thought you knew! > > "plun" <paralun@msn.com> wrote in message > news:mn.dd1f7d625af59088.32385@msn.com... >> Hi >> >> Are you using Clear type functionality ? >> >> http://www.microsoft.com/typography/ClearTypeInfo.mspx >> >> With a LCD screen and IE7 this is important to use. >> >> You have one Powertoy and one ActiveX controlled >> Clear type control. >> >> regards >> plun >> >> >> >>> As I suspected. Hi Richard,
From what I understand, ClearType is turned on by default when you install IE7. To turn it off you must go to "Tools||Internet Options...||Advanced||Multimedia" and untick "Use ClearType". http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2006/02/03/524367.aspx Donald Anadell "Richard Urban" <richardurbanREMOVETHIS@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:%23Wu0PUBPGHA.4064@TK2MSFTNGSA01.privatenews.microsoft.com... > Clear type is not loaded on my system (CRT monitor). > > -- > > > Regards, > > Richard Urban > Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User > > Quote from George Ankner: > If you knew as much as you think you know, > You would realize that you don't know what you thought you knew! > > "plun" <paralun@msn.com> wrote in message news:mn.dd1f7d625af59088.32385@msn.com...
