Application failed to initialize! W2k Server SP4 German

Hello,

after i've successfully installed MS Defender (latest versionate:
26.02.2006) the software isn't able to update its dedinition files via
GPO(w2k MS Server update services). If i try to start it, it fails
MsgBox(Application failed to initialize. Zuordnungen von kontonamen und
Sicherheitskennungen wurden nicht durchgeführt).

Os: Win2k Server Sp4, all updates, german

i'm wondering why Ms releases a beta of defender knowing that i won't work
on OS with languages other then english....

There was an installer error in the download available before February 22 or
so, which didn't install correctly on non-English versions of windows. That
was corrected on February 22.

I don't believe that Windows Defender will update via SUS--only WSUS, or
WindowsUpdate.

Is the Windows Installer 3.1 installed?

I believe there are lots of other users of German language Windows in these
groups--in fact, as I understand it, German and Japanese versions of the
beta are planned.

Yes, sorry WSUS-
W-Installer 3.1 installed.

Installation was successful, but i can't start it.-

hope there will be a multi langauge version available soon.
