Remove the current signature file. To do so, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, click Run, type the following line (copy and past if you wish), and then click Ok. Msiexec /x {A5CC2A09-E9D3-49EC-923D-03874BBD4C2C} 2. Open Windows Defender. 3. Check for new definitions. To do this, click the Help options arrow next to the Windows Defender Help icon, click About Windows Defender, and then click Check for Updates. You can also visit the WindowsUpdate website. -- Eric "Ian" <Ian@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:EA812D18-7569-4891-8DF6-76BA69726AE7@microsoft.com... > Having installed Defender today, I am having exactly the same problem, > must > be a bug!. > > "UCFcom_dis" wrote: > >> When I click the update button I encounter a problem after it says it is >> connecting to the internet to update.
