Does Microsoft have an official position on Indiana's impeding timezone
change? We are dealing with several thousand Windows, Outlook and Exchange users. How is the timezone change going to affect all of our Calendar data? |

Open a support call with Microsoft or wait until the impending change is

Milly, thanks for the reply. Microsoft does have an official position on
changing timezones and by all accounts, it is not acceptable. Article 906864 suggests exporting all calendar data, changing the timezone in Outlook and reimporting the data. I hope there is more ideal solution in the works. Microsoft will probably come up with a solution when it gets closer to the
actual change. The article you posted is for general purposes, not specific to the Indiana DST changes. They have already posted an article (much booed) for the Australia games problem. Has anyone heard any updates on this situation? I'm also in agreement
that the posted article is not an acceptable solution. I have heard from a local MS rep that a knowledgebase article is in the works. Just wondering if anyone has more information on the subject. We have determined that all appointments scheduled prior to the server/desktop time zone being changed from Indiana to Eastern (observer DST) for dates that fall between April 2 and October 30 will show an hour later than they should. It is getting close to this changeover and information would be helpful. I have yet to hear anything. I plan to contact Microsoft Support this week

I would like to know more on how to solve this problem as does anyone who
uses or administers Outlook in the State of Indiana. The current fix is rather time consuming; the loss of data is a probable outcome. Will the procedure be the same for Public Calenders? I would guess yes. The time change is now two weeks away. I need to schedule staff and prep users on how we'll fix this. We'll be exporting calenders and making backups, but a simpler fix would be appreciated. You can find an excellent program that will take care of adjusting the
calender at http://www.somersetcpas.com/dst works great!
