Default Pleae help

I finally broke down and purchased a copy of XP home. It has service pack 2.

I had a "borrowed" version from many years ago that had been running slower and slower, so I decided to load a new hard-drive with real software and start over.

Everything went fine, until I tried to play spider solitaire, the sound did not work, it seems to tick, then everything is delayed. Depending upon how long you play, the delay gets slower and slower. Everything elses seems fine.

I look at the device drivers and everything looks similar. Is there some system files that I can view to see what the differences are between my old set up and my new?

Computer is Intel PIII 700mhz wih 160mb RAM

Thanks

Wink Welcome to the forum ...

You have a slow PC for XP and really could do with 512mb ram in there.

Default Thanks for the response

I will accept that as a possible answer; but, I still have to wonder why did it work so much better before? I think there has to be something different in one of the setups that is handled another way with service pack 2.

I would love to upgrade the unit but I like to have my ISA slot which I hear are hard to find if not completely unavailable now with current motherboards.

I will have to see if I can still get RAM for my system.
