Default Firewire 6pin bus still has power after notebook shutdown....??

Hi,

I use an audio-interface (m-audio firewire 410) connected on the 6 pin
firewire bus. Works perfectly, great sound. The only problem occurs when i
shut down my laptop: the power on the 6pin stays on, resulting in an annoying
blue led that keeps flashing and therefore a use of power i don't want
(battery life shortening and of course we all have to be aware that we don't
have energy forever....
Powermanagement does not have an suitable option... The FWcard supports
acpi(?) in seems....

Can you tell me wether i can shut down the power on the 6pin when i schut
down the laptop?

Thanks a lot for your attention anyway....

Some specs:
acer aspire 1705smi
Xp sp2
built-in 1394 firewire card (manufacturer is microsoft?)

if you need more: please ask me.
