XP Pro Installation

I just installed XP Pro from a windows disk all was going well until it had
trouble finding a file on the disk, the file was there a browsed to it, but i
gave up and contiued without it. pc seems fine XP working OK.

My questions are and there is two.

can i fix the problem with the repair option on the cd (if so how) or should
i reinstall.

second question may be related to the first tried to update from the
Microsoft update downloaded the file and got a error message UNKNOWN
PUBLISHER from internet security, honest it was a microsoft update from the
microsoft.com site.

Please help me

Mike, with the WinXP CD in the cd drive go to Start>Run type: sfc
/scannow That will do a check of the System
Files.
