Default Blank screen during XP Pro Installation

I have a Dell Inspiron 7000 and am trying to install XP pro on it on a
formatted hard drive. However, during the installation, when it first begins
to install XP, it gets as far as half way through 'Installing Devices' and
then the screen goes blank and turns off. I can still hear the hard drive
running. But then the hard drive stops and the power light stays on. I have
removed all hardware from it and everything but am still really confused.
Please Help!

Default RE: Blank screen during XP Pro Installation

I have now found the problem with the installation and XP is now running
fine. If anyone else has the same problem or was wondering what was wrong, I
found out that XP did not have the screen drivers for the laptop, so I
connected it to an external monitor and it installed fine. However, somehow
the screen drivers have been found and the laptop screen works fine.
