Default Deterministic Network Enhancer

I was having a problem connecting a clients laptop to our
network the other day. I was unable to establish the
cause so I called Microsoft Technical Support.

Eventually the tech turned off Deterministic Network
Enhancer and now the computer is running fine. Does
anyone have any idea where this item came from.

I found it under the Local Area Connection Properties
dialogue box in the General tab. It is in the This
connection uses the following items: field.

Default RE: Deterministic Network Enhancer

A number of software vendors integrate the Deterministic Network Enhancer
into their products; Cisco VPN clients, Starband, third party ISP dialers,
etc.

Thanks for the reply. Seems it's a Zone Alarm thing.
