Titles and credits not working (even after following advice from n

I have put quite a bit of work into this and have not been able to find an
answer. Any hints would be greatly appreciated...

Adding titles and credits used to work, but now no longer do. I have
followed the advice found in these forums as well as on the Internet at
places like papajohn's (otherwise always useful) movie maker website. I have
tried the regedit based, reinstall SP2, and other suggested tricks. Nothing
as worked. I have even done these multiple times after installing various
things like Photostory and some of the effects packages I had installed.
Probably half the things I am doing are irrational, but I *really* would like
to get this working again. Sadly, I don't know when this stopped working so
don't have a good restore point to go to. And I am unwilling to go to the
lengths of
reinstalling XP.

I have even been using filemon and regmon to watch what MM2 is
trying to access to determine where the problem is. Not yet understanding
it well enough to clue in to what is missing. (I am used to developing
software on a Linux box.)

I am wondering if there isn't something new broken as I really have tried
everything I could find in these forums and elsewhere on the web? I saw a
recent post from at least one other person having this problem again.
(Others with this problem seemed to be more months ago.

me directly. I am interested to investigate it with somebody liek you who
can use regmon and filemon etc.
