Default Importing MPEG-2 From Easy DVD Rip 4.0.3

I tried to import part of a chapter I ripped and converted using Easy DVD Rip
4.0.3. First time I got a "cannot locate the codec" error. Then I
downloaded "Stinky's MPEG-2 Codec." Got the video imported, but only the
audio plays and when I try to drag it to the story board, it crashes WMM.
Tyring to use clips from movies and my own home videos - putting them
together. Any help would be appreciated! New at this video stuff.
