Hello,
I'm having "issues" with Window Movie Maker. Frequently when I split a particular segment in 2, then the second movie clip will render a thumbnail from content that is NOT at the start of the clip. It will then play the audio with the video "on pause" until it reaches the point from which the thumbnail is rendered. the video then "picks-up" and play for the remainder of the clip. This behaviour will exhibit itself whether I play the entire project (the clip within the project will behave this way), or if I play the individual clip from the collections. Any ideas on this?? Thank you!! -bruce |

The clip is likely either corrupt or it is an MPEG which causes all kinds of
strange things to happen. If it isn't MPEG you could try opening it in Windows Media Encoder to reindex the file and see if it works then. -Wojo "Bruce D. Rempe" <Bruce D. Would it become corrupt just from breaking into smaller clips? I have clips
that ran fine until I broke them smaller- and now the picture freezes while the audio keeps going. Very annoying!! I have a string of clips already assembled- must I now delete t hem and try again? I hadn't realized the issue at first. -- Pamela ![]() "Wojo" wrote: > The clip is likely either corrupt or it is an MPEG which causes all kinds of > strange things to happen. Splitting the clip wouldn't have "corrupted" it but if there was an indexing
problem to begin with then splitting may have caused the problem, I don't know for certain, so using Media Encoder to reindex the file should fix the problem. You may or may not have to reimport and start your project over again. Since you are fixing the source file and Movie Maker still reads that source file when working with the clips it is likely that you will not need to rebuild your project. -Wojo "CityCricket" <CityCricket@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:E920BA2E-6A08-44D8-9BC4-EB1D7A1A3718@microsoft.com... > Would it become corrupt just from breaking into smaller clips?
