Default HELP!! MY COMPUTER WON'T LET ME LOG IN!!

A few months ago, suddenly my computer started requiring me to click on my
user account on that blue screen that first pops up. Over a week ago it
stopped letting me click on the account to get into the rest of the computer.
I have had to use F9 when it first starts up and run the computer in the
different hard drives but after I use one it won't let me use it again. I am
down to one last hard drive so I've had to leave my computer on constantly
for the last week. I'm just praying that the power doesn't ever go off.
Does anyone know how I can get the computer to STOP asking me to log in or
how I can fix it so that it will let me click on the user name again to get
into the rest of the computer????? Am I making sense?
I am using Windows XP by the way.

Simply tap the F8 key on restart or when starting computer, select safe
mode, enter as administrator, once in xp,look at event viewer,or edit accounts.
