I want to upgrade Windows 2000 to Windows 2003 over Terminal Services.
Is this possible? I am having a terrible time finding a discussion on this. thanks Joatman |

You mean from within a TS session?
I don't know if this is even possible, but I would strongly advise against it. If it is possible at all, then I guess it would have to be an unattended setup, with a pre-configured unattend.txt file. _________________________________________________________ Vera Noest MCSE, CCEA, Microsoft MVP - Terminal Server TS troubleshooting: http://ts.veranoest.net SQL troubleshooting: http://sql.veranoest.net ___ please respond in newsgroup, NOT by private email ___ "Joatman71" <joatman71@yahoo.com> wrote on 15 jan 2006 in microsoft.public.win2000.termserv.apps: > I want to upgrade Windows 2000 to Windows 2003 over Terminal > Services. Yes. I need to upgrade a bunch of servers that are in another city. I
can go there and do it, but it will take three or four trips because they can't all be upgraded at once. If I get it working using a local version with the unattended setup is it likely to work with the production servers? |

I've no idea. You'll have to test the process thoroughly.
Actually, I never ever upgrade any server OS. I always perform a fresh install from scratch. _________________________________________________________ Vera Noest MCSE, CCEA, Microsoft MVP - Terminal Server TS troubleshooting: http://ts.veranoest.net SQL troubleshooting: http://sql.veranoest.net *----------- Please reply in newsgroup -------------* "Joatman71" <joatman71@yahoo.com> wrote on 16 jan 2006: > Yes. Me too, upgrading terminal server is just as sketchy as upgrading any client
OS. It's much more reliable to do a clean install, and overall takes less time. This page will give you some tips when building a new server: http://www.sessioncomputing.com/security -- Patrick Rouse Microsoft MVP - Terminal Server http://www.sessioncomputing.com "Vera Noest [MVP]" wrote: > I've no idea.
