Default restrict my EX-company from remotely accessing my computer

I was once on a company network with my personal computer. I soon found that
mgmt was going remotely accessing my personal files and pictures at the
company. I restored my computer, took off XP Professional and have home
edition. How do I assure I have completely blocked any opportunity for them
to continue to remotely access my computer. Please help! - jennifer

Make sure that you have no VPN connections configured or drivers
loaded in Control Panel - Networks.

Make sure you have a firewall (the Windows XP built-in one would be
okay).

Good luck
